The Characters of BROOD
Our story follows a knight and his squire, newly appointed as a knight himself. This comes with a sudden rift in their relationship.

Nicol
The Knight
Nicol is a soldier raised from infancy. Orphaned as a child, the king took him in as a ward, grooming him to become his greatest soldier. Nicol excelled in this regard, becoming the third-in-command to his king. Now, he's reduced to a scout, venturing towards Spain.
His design reflects his military upbringing. His haircut is utilitarian, and he has a broad posture, serving as an imposing figure when around his king.
Carlo
The Squire
Carlo is a man newly knighted. A high honor indeed, yet his purpose is not to be a knight. His father raised him to rule France, to be his successor. To learn as much as possible, he has trained in all sects of the military, high and low.
He carries himself much less like a soldier. It isn't who he is. It's more akin to practicing for his future duties. A scholarly and royal sort, his design is much more like a diplomat. Yet his clothes reveal the militant nature of his kingdom.

Le Roi
His Majesty
The king is much like his son. He is a scholar, he's observant, and he's a trained man. The difference between him and Carlo is that he knows all of this can attain power unlike might alone. He uses people as tools, raising Nicol to be his strongest soldier, and Carlo to be his successor. First Name knows that these endeavors took time from him, so he hastens his plans.
Visually, he's designed after Carlo. A solemn, older mirror to the squire. He is a glimpse into the future Carlo treks towards.
